Sinfully New Coat for Guy

My friend ~ThatDarnKat introduced me to this anime, "Le Chevalier d'Eon", which is funny because it takes place in 1700's France XD Watching the anime, I was surprised at the design of the costumes given to the character. It really impressed me as the simplicity applied did not take away an authentic historical feel. Rather than take full on artistic licensing in historical costume design(::coughcoughYuGiOhcoughcough:: >> << >> ), the costumes were rather simplistic and "generic", which gives a commonfolk-feel to the costumes worn. The color schemes were muted, and nothing extravagant was applied for the common characters; only the rich upperclass received pretty ones, just as it should be. Of course, real authenticity can be questioned as it's ANIMU, but that doesn't stop the artwork from being short of amazing. The character Durand disturbs me, though. He reminds me too much of Phoebus XD;

The episode I saw inspired me to try to revise Guy's costume from his flat, uninteresting pink frock-and-breeches combo. I went with an open coat where you can see his waistcoat, and I added a belt for his rapier. I muted his color scheme some and avoided too much monochrome, even allowing my sister ~raetard to help figure it out. I am really pleased with the results

This will be Guy's official costume FOR NOW, so the ugly pink frock-and-breeches combo is discarded XD
